Do you sometimes feel like ancient Sisyphus? Many Energy Managers in Industry do. You are constantly working on sophisticated plans to save energy – for the sake of sustainability and cost saving.
Saving energy is just so much more than turning the lights off when no one is working. If you are responsible for the energy management of an industrial plant, you know this for sure. But have you already thought about using data as an objective means in your argumentation line?
EEA helps high energy consuming industrial players reduce energy costs in their process and power distribution by applying unique big data and AI algorithms combined with process analysis. Take advantage of our expertise in the energy domain and optimize your energy use by analyzing your consumption data.
We often talk to Energy Managers who quickly understand the value of our data-driven approach and would like to benefit from it. However, within a company, there are so much more players that need to be convinced. This is why we want to lend you a hand and show you 7 easy steps that help you to get C-level commitment for your endeavor.
1. Tie your Energy Efficiency Endeavor to your company’s CO2-Agenda
Most companies do have a CO2 agenda nowadays. To make sure your ideas are being heard by the C-level management, it helps to prove that your goals are delivering on the company’s overall targets.
2. Demonstrate what you already have achieved
Probably you already have done a lot to keep energy costs and consumption at a low level. By showing all that you have already done you can show that all traditional measures have been exploited, and it is time to think about new ways to minimize even more.
3. Involve other stakeholders
Energy efficiency is not your task alone. Set up an army to get things done by involving important stakeholders and turning them into supporters for your plans: the plant or facility manager, finance, procurement and / or the EHS-officer can become your fellow campaigners.
4. Visualize additional savings potential (we’ll help you!)
Visualize how much additional savings potential there is. The investment will not be the problem when you visualize the return on invest your company will get. And surely, we will be happy to assist you in this and deliver a visualization of the savings potential for your workshop or factory.
5. Demonstrate what data / AI can do that you cannot do right now (we’ll provide convincing real-life data from existing projects)
Without data, you are flying blind on some parts of your energy consumption. We can provide you with charts that reveal how other companies did just not know about their savings potential before letting their data work for them.
6. Start small (1 plant / workshop)
Your management is still hesitant? Then offer to start at small scale first. A lot of our customers were convinced that they had done all there is in terms of energy savings – and EEA was still able to dig out additional options. By starting small you can set up a convincing argument just for a part of your company first – and then add more workshops or plants as you go.
7. Reduce risk (Start-up phase)
EEA is a risk-free software anyway as it will not have any effect on your production capacity. But if you or your management is still unsure about the benefits it might bring, it is always best to just start with the so-called start-up phase. There is no need to commit your company to a longtime contract right away. Our approach allows you to work with you get after the startup phase and leave if you wish.
But let us fill you in on a little secret: none of our customers ever did because they were easily convinced of what they got out of it!
We understand that there is more to your job than just saving energy. There is so much convincing and expertise in what you do. This is why we would like to help you where we can: by delivering our knowledge to help you convince your C-level to invest in energy efficiency.
