As we journey towards Expo2020, we want to demonstrate how smart cities are transforming everyday life to create a better tomorrow. To show our commitment around the world, we are collaborating with Financial Times ahead of our highlight event of the year: Expo2020 Dubai.
Our mission is to unveil how Siemens is connecting the real and digital worlds around the globe for smarter, more sustainable and safer cities.
We chose smart cities around the world!
Many smart cities, with all their existing technologies and urban infrastructures, have had to rethink how they can create better and stronger ecosystems to remain sustainable in the future.
Organized by the Financial Times, in partnership with Siemens, the Future Cities event series was developed to explore urban cities and their evolution towards city-wide digital transformation and the forward-thinking strategies needed to become an agile, smart and sustainable destination.
The bespoke thought leadership events showcase how Siemens is transforming cities around the world. Future Cities events have taken place in London, Los Angeles and Johannesburg. We will go to Singapore next, on 7 July 2021. Thereafter, Berlin, New York, India and Taiwan will be featured in the event series.

66% of the global population will live in cities by 2050, and experts expect that the bulk of urbanization will happen over the next 15 years. That means urban design will be a key component to mitigating climate change.
Our theme for the Singapore event will be all around the demand for smart and green infrastructure and the increasing need to channel expertise, technology and funds into sustainable development. We will ask ourselves what the challenges and opportunities are and will highlight the vital role of innovation and financing to transform cities in Southeast Asia.
