Digitalization in pharma is not a mere “fashion jargon” or a personal sales target obligation …is more, it represents my contribution to development of the pharmaceutical sector in Brazil!
Siemens and I, a success story that started around 7 years ago.
Digitalization in pharma is not a mere jargon that became popular or a personal selling goal for me, but above all, an exciting job that in some way can positively impact people’s lives though indirectly.
Around 7 years ago, decided to change jobs, having passed a rigorous selection process and without receiving any indication or recommendation from a fellow Siemens employee, and I am very proud of that. I was hired to work in MES PHARMA (Manufacturing Execution System) and that’s when one of the greatest and most successful stages of my professional life began, and amazingly, this at the top of my 51 years of age at moment of my hiring, contradicting the prognosis related to the labor market in Brazil, which in general regrettably considers people over 40 years old to be uninteresting.
Digitalization in pharma is not a mere “fashion jargon” or a personal sales target obligation …
Sales activity is predominantly measured by results, and even though you, as the salesperson have a speech that is engaging, it is good that the return of your work and strategy does not take long to appear, but the big challenge is when you first need to evangelize the market, fight against the forces of established competitors and incoming competitors, overcome obstacles of the most varied types that appear at all times in front of.
Sales activity represents a constant challenge for me which ultimately translates into a stimulus to not only start the work, but to see it standing, ready, and with my signature!
Several faces and one goal, deliver the best …
Together with incredible members of the team I am part of, we are building here in Brazil a fantastic story of revitalization and transformation of the national pharmaceutical industry, where digitalization plays a fundamental role in this journey, so I think this is my legacy naturally shared with Siemens.
Far beyond sales targets, there is the purpose …something like the competitors of an Olympics who are not looking at the medal but at overcoming it, the medal is just a materialized representation!
Over these almost 7 years of pilgrimage(once I evangelize the market) through this huge country that is Brazil, I came across all kinds of situations in my meetings with directors and managers of pharmaceutical plants of all sizes, levels of infrastructure and maturity in terms of projects, but the most rewarding thing is when you more than the client himself truly knows that what is being proposed in terms of the digitization project actually in the end who will benefit will be the patient receiving medicines produced with more quality so this all makes all the difference and be worth going far beyond the achievement of the sale itself.
Siemens as the pillar of subvention of my work …
Working in a company that enjoys a high level of credibility and success, with more than 100 years of Brazil, with a broad spectrum portfolio of proven efficiency, which is the case of our pharma portfolio totally aimed to I4.0 concepts, brings a feeling that a lot can be done, and at the same time, gives us the opportunity to contribute enormously to the development of the national industry, and above all, that delicious feeling of to be doing the right thing.
A story under construction…
This is a real story, it is my story which is still being built at Siemens and being written in stone, but above all, it had the element “personal overcoming” as the great reward!
I dedicate my success to my dear parents (in memory) and also to my dear wife Isabel and my beautiful and dear son Gustavo, 11 years old, who support me in my day-to-day on this journey.
