„Whether granulated, powdered, liquid, pasty or lumpy. We will pack that!“inno-tech Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH
It all began in 1992, when the family-run company inno-tech was founded and committed itself to this motto. Since then, inno-tech Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH, headquartered in Reiskirchen, Germany, has been known in the market for bag maker machines and dosing systems relying from the very beginning on the technology and know-how of Siemens, the expert in the automation of packaging machines.
The company manufactures various types of equipment that are used in primary packaging in a wide range of applications. Beside products in the “food” category, which includes frozen foods such as French fries, fish, vegetables, rolls, ketchup, mayonnaise, tea, coffee, and spices, also “non-food” products such as detergents and soap are packaged, as well as toy building blocks and hop pellets for beer production. The company mainly serves customers in Europe, North Africa, Australia and Russia.
inno-tech manufactures not only standard bag maker machines, but also is able to fulfill challenging, individual customer requirements and implement them in special systems. These include systems for packaging powdery and dusty media in potentially explosive atmospheres in compliance with ATEX directives. Automation products from Siemens are used here that comply with these high requirements.
When developing the machines, inno-tech takes the operator’s and maintenance personnel’s perspective in order to design the machines with a high degree of operator, assembly and maintenance friendliness. This makes it possible, for example, to carry out a gearbox replacement within a fraction of the time compared to machines from other manufacturers.
Function integration of Motion and Safety
inno-tech has relied on Siemens control and drive technology since the company was founded. In addition to the Microbox IPCs from Siemens, SIMATIC controllers S7-1515T-2 PN, frequency converters G120 and Sinamics S120 drives with 1FK7 servo motors are also used.
High acceptance by food and consumer goods manufacturers
The Siemens components enjoy a high degree of recognition worldwide and experience a high level of customer acceptance and satisfaction.
When working with Siemens, inno-tech appreciates the very good technical support and the high quality of the products. When working with Siemens, inno-tech appreciates the very good technical support and the high quality of the products.
The worldwide high distribution of the Siemens components in connection with the TIA Portal makes it possible that changes in the program at the plants can be carried out easily and quickly on site by a trained TIA technician in the TIA Portal without the need for a technician from inno-tech having to travel to the plant. A trend that has already become apparent over the last few years is that more and more plants are being equipped with remote access so that changes can also be made to the program remotely or the plant operator can be supported quickly and conveniently in the event of a fault. This can significantly reduce service costs.
Integrated acceptance test for safety
In the engineering tool from Siemens, the TIA portal, the documentation of the safety acceptance test with graphical illustration is very beneficial to inno-tech, as it can be easily added to the plant documentation.
Currently, inno-tech is working together with Siemens on a solution to quickly switch the system from one recipe to another without having to stop the machine briefly. inno-tech Managing Director, Sebastian Klein, is convinced that Siemens will be a strong partner at inno-tech’s side in this case as well.
In the future, inno-tech would like to further expand its product range and open up new markets. For this purpose, the sales department and the company’s strength in special plant engineering shall be further expanded. The avoidance of plastic by using paper instead of plastic foils will also play an important role in plant design in the future.
