Innovation ecosystem designs help us move forward in new, exciting, and purposeful ways. I would argue it open ups so many possibilities for us all.
A couple of months ago I was listening in on a presentation about Siemens innovation Ecosystem platform. I wanted to provide my reactions to this great initiative.
As an outsider looking into Siemens, I can see within the world of Siemens a growing range of ecosystems built to support innovation.
These are places to collaborate and tackle challenges together. For example, Next47, Supplier Innovations, in different consortiums where collaborations offer mutual recognition and accelerate broader change. There are open ways to contribute to the work of the AI Lab, in connecting to Universities to build greater associated knowledge and insights.
Mindsphere is looking for exploring collaborations, ideas, and building applications to advance this digital platform.
There is a whole new world of innovation ecosystems forming across Siemens.
The Innovation Ecosystem, the one I was listening too recently is open to all in Siemens to join. You can explore and find your own way to gain from interactions to share ideas and participate in a growing range of industrial and business challenges.
I think embracing an ecosystem collaborative design approach is the future. I genuinely believe it gives each of us a more significant opportunity to express ourselves and make a distinct contribution.
Let me spark your thinking here:
- Perhaps working in collaborative spaces allow you to achieve a winning design that is recognized as valuable, something that might not have seemed achievable in the past as you had no real channel to pursue the idea or your thinking. You can find within any innovation ecosystem design the opportunities to express yourself:
- It can be a place to be aspirational, giving freedom to explore and make increased connections into a peer-to-peer group that can
- It can give you your space to transform our world by sharing and combining with others, working on meaningful challenges.
- By engaging in more open, collaborative ways, you can find ways that a certain nimbleness, a chance to improve your navigating skills, and gain from all the “buzz” and creative energy that forms within a winning ecosystem.
- Eventually, the greater we openly engage, we begin to see a vastly different and evolving set of enterprise capabilities emerging, better equipped for the future.
Today in business, the emphasis is on the speed of development, continuously experimenting, exploring, and validating, checking on what is contributing to value creation and improved experience comes into full view.
Having access to an open innovation ecosystem enables all involved to combine and share far more and achieve that need for speed and quicker response.
Innovation ecosystem designs help us move forward in new, exciting, and purposeful ways. I would argue it open ups so many possibilities for us all.
The dedicated spaces within any innovation ecosystem offer the platforms to build universal collaboration tools to do the job and provide structures and designs to support the visual thinking techniques to break us out of the existing mindsets.
As we recognize and push out through more open networking and relationships, we open up to new learning. We sharpen our minds and attain smarter resources as these exposes ‘us’ to new fields of expertise and knowledge that we can absorb and translate into innovation opportunities.
As we connect and integrate this learning, we are all becoming co-creators that can arrive at different defining and shape potential. By reaching out, we operate differently; we become more engaged and open.
We learn far more about “where to play,” “how to play,” and, more importantly, “how to win.” The art of learning and exploring recognizes the possibilities; we do get closer to harnessing creativity and latent intelligence.
We can develop far greater critical thinking as we connect and learn to collaborate in any ecosystem design. We gain more facts, or we can find them quicker in tapping into our network.
We can tackle complex problems with a diversity of connected minds, we can refine our judgment and decision-making on the experimentation and exploring we do, and finally, we can become far greater active listeners.
Working in innovation ecosystems is the future – so this is the time to embrace them.
To think and design within a world of innovation ecosystems alters your perspectives and opens us up to more possibilities to grow personally and help to create new value and worth.
A well-designed innovation ecosystem gives us these creative spaces to express ourselves and offer more meaningful contributions to the future and find like-minded people willing to connect and want to collaborate equally.
