Digitalization is changing manufacturing significantly and that holds true for Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) within facilities as well. HMI systems are changing to handle an increase of production data, an increasing number of devices and systems to connect to and upcoming user interaction scenarios. It is important that HMI systems have cloud connectivity, device independency, web technology, and scalability to name a few.
With
the constant change in HMI requirements it is important for visualization
systems to meet today’s requirements as well as the futures. These systems
currently need to provide simple scalability from HMIs to complex SCADA
solutions but also be ready for future digitalization opportunities such as
Edge and Augmented Reality.
Users
expect a modern user interface that will provide a great experience in any
environment. Familiar native web technologies such as HTML5, SVG and JavaScript
are important for runtime to allow the users flexibility to gain access from
anywhere with a modern web browser including mobile devices.
